December 13th, 2025
“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,284 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- Most everyone I would’ve heard by now, but my knee surgery got canceled due to a confusion over when I should’ve stopped eating food a meeting. I had with the anesthesiologist about a month before the schedule date said I should not eat for 24 hours before the surgery, however the booklet that prepares you for surgery said I only had to stop eating at midnight so I made a mistake. They’re gonna try to squeeze me in before the end of the year, but it looks like it might not be t. And so it goes….
- The more observing of you might have noticed that I had the wrong date at the top of the UGT last week and the wrong date specified in the history link. My my apologies last Saturday was indeed, December 6th not December 8th.
- You can find out all about today’s history here.
This week’s Website Update:
-
- No new recipes this week
- This week’s quote is from Walt Disney: “Some of us are children searching for their inner adult.”

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
I hope you can feel it too! Inside of me is a growing anticipation and excitement that comes every year about this time. The stress of picking out the right gifts for people and the cost of things and worrying over the logistics of the big meal, etc. all seem to get blurry in the face of the smiles and joy I feel when we get together and celebrate hopefully a moment of peace everywhere altogether. I hope this Christmas is especially joyful for everyone.
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
- Cat Stevens— Father and Son — Last week selection of the song by Cat Stevens reminded my friend of his favorite Cat Stevens song on the same album. It’s also one of my favorite so I thought I’d feature it this week. This one’s also from, “Tea for the Tillerman” released in 1970..
- Phil Collins — Another Day In Paradise — This song as always made me a little ashamed of my treatment, my fellow man. Sometime after I heard this song, I started carrying those little trail mix bars in my car so when people came up to me at the traffic lights asking for handouts, I would give them a bar too and say, “just something to munch on ”. I wanted them to know I saw them. This song was released as a single in 1989.
- Genesis — Taking It All Too Hard — Genesis reminds me a lot of little feet. The personnel changed, but the music kept getting better and better, which is pretty hard to do given that the music was so good from the very beginning much like when Micheal McDonald’s doing the Doobie Brothers, when Phil Collins join Genesis the entire sound of the band changed. Perhaps it wasn’t better but it was different and good. This is released on their album in 1983.
- Mike + The Mechanics — All I Need Is a Miracle ’96 (Remastered Version) — This cut id from their compilation album released in 1996, “Hits”.
- Mike + The Mechanics — Over My Shoulder (Remastered Version) — This song is another hit from there that same compilation album released in 1996. I think Mike mechanics are probably one of the most unsung bands of our time. In my opinion. The whistling alone should qualify for a Grammy.”.
- Traffic —The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys — this is the title cut of one of the greatest records ever recorded. Everybody on this record of star this is the title cut from there. 1971 release. Turn it up! OK good all parts done good morning how you doing most important task of the day you woke up on side of her. I’ve got a ton to do today. Spaghetti for us tonight. She’s gonna clean tomorrow.
,That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
