“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  I have decided that the UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been 1,068 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • Our son Sean came to visit this week in and took over the assembly of my waterfall project,. Watching in my grandson working on the project together was rewarding. A strong sense of pride kind of washed over me. You watching them sort through the problems and solve them.
    • I didn’t learn so much as I realize that no matter how old you get whenever your children are together and they laugh you’re taking right back to that moment when they were little kids and you never became little people in their life together it’s heartwarming.
    • Shawn has commented on how much better he’s sleeping. He says he’s sleeping longer and deeper since he came to visit. I suspect the problem is the reason for it is as long list of things that he does for his mom and dad exhaust him so much that he sleeps well. Night.
    • One of the really nice things about visits like this is you get to Brickyard all your different recipes that you want to try and don’t get to do very often. This week I had my Seafood I’ll grin and Oaella.
    • You can find out all about today’s history here

This week’s Website Update:

    • Currently, I cannot update the UJT Archive Page such that I can store new 2025 UJT Updates. Stay tuned.
    • No new recipes this week.
    • The Home Page this week is from Mark Twain. It has always been one of my favorites. My Dad gave me a plaque of this quote inscribed for my 22nd birthday.:  “When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”

Bonsai Tree and   Stained Glass, Update:

    • Ever so slowly, step by step…

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • It’s weird having to pass the baton to others. My son has spent a good portion of his visit doing things and fixing things that I am no longer able to do. I love watching him wok. Even if he has never done that task before, (building waterfalls for instance), there is no hesitation and ab avisikyte certainty that he will figure it out. I miss that feeling much more than I thought I would. I am grateful that he has inherited it.

Music Update:

This week, I am continuing to feature performers’ whose first names begin with the same letter, “S.” There are a lot of great players on that list.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

    • Seals & Crofts  I Will Play for You—” This is a great song. There was a title kind of their L. album released in 1975.
    • Sheryl Crow Every Day Is a Winding Road This song was my introduction to Sheryl. She has been giving us great music ever since. It was released as a single in 1996
    • Simon & Garfunkel —For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her (Live) — I hope everyone has been in love like this song describes the feeling. This is the liver version released in 1988.
    • Sinead O’Connor — Nothing Compares to U — This is just a great song by a gifted singer/songwriter. chris Cprnell does a great acoustic cover of this song too. Thus was her biggest hit. It was released on her “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got” released in 1990.
    • Sister Hazel —All for You (Full Band Version) — I don’t remember when or how I found out about this song and this band. But I like it!  This is from their, “Somewhere More Familiar” released in 1996.
    • Sly and The Family Stone — Dance to the Music  This is another anthem song for our generation. I knew about this band and had e even seen them in concert before everyone learned about them at Woodstock. This is a remaster title cut from their 1968 release’

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
