“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  I have decided that the UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been 927 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week I learned some stuff:

    • We said goodbye to our last visitor and sang Happy Birthday to our eldest granddaughter who turned 27. We loved our visitors and the celebration
    • You can find out all about today’s history here.

This week’s Website Update:

    • I failed to capture any new recipes.
    • The Home Page will have a quote from Epictetus: “He who laughs at himself, never runs out of things to laugh about.”.

Writing, Bonsai Trees, Stained Glass, and Painting Update:

    • Stagnant area at the moment.

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • This week I contacted an old friend from my EDS/Duetchebank/Y2K days. I meet so many magnificent people on that deal! Another friend from those days was trying to find out the status of the Account manager. I looked around – emails, FB, etc. with no luck so I contacted another leader from that team via Linkedin. Anyway, this friend has been a busy boy!! He has opened businesses in 4 or 5 countries, built a log cabin in the beautiful Austrian forests with some friends, and received a medal from the Pope! And he knows how to contact Jack! We have exchanged a few emails and with each update, I become increasingly impressed with his energy, passion, accomplishments, and outlook on life. It is such a joy, hearing of his and the other team members’ successes.  I am still learning  from all those great players.

Music Update:

This week’s selections took me on a fun stroll through memories – Enjoy the Ride!!

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

    • Elton John — Candle in the Wind—  I got to see Elton perform the first time before he became the superstar he would grow up to be a superstar. His show was very simple but excellent. It was just Elton, his piano, and a picture of Marylin Monroe. You might say it was his
“Norma Jean” period. This song was a smash hit twice first on , “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” released in 1973 and again in 1997 when Princess Dianna was killed.
    • Steely Dan   Chain-Lightning    This is one of my favorite songs from their great album. “ Katy Lied” was released in 1975.
    • Supertramp –  Bloody Well Right —  These boys just blew us away the first time I heard them and they still do today. This one is from their 1974 release, “Crime of the Century”.N
    • Bruce Springsteen — Human Touch —  One of my favs from the Boss!!! This is the title cut from his 9th studio album released in 1992.
    • Blood, Sweat & Tears — God Bless The Child — These guys and Chicago Transit Authority brought the big band sound of horns into the Rock world. This cover of Billy Holiday’s classic is wonderful. BS&T had David Clayton Thomas as the lead vocalist. One of the best is in the Biz! This was released on their self-titled album released in 1969.
    • Billy Joel— Only the Good Die Young — Another anthem song for the teenage me.  This is a cut from his 1977 release, “The Stranger”.
    •

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
