Taco Pie
This is another refugee from my couch imprisonment watching YouTube. Of course, I just had to make it, “mo betta”. You can go as hot and spicy as you would like by adding and/or changing peppers.
Ingredients:
1 deep dish pie crust
1 Lbs lean ground beef browned and drained
1/2 cup tamed jalapeños
1 can Low salt Rotel, drained
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 small can of green chilies
~1 cup, of sharp Cheddar
1/2 cup medium salsa, divided
1/2 cup sour cream,
1 cup, crushed Nacho-flavored Doritos,
1/4 cup melted butter
Directions:

- Combined ground beef with tamed jalapeños, green chilies, and Rotel and mix well.
- Spread mixture into piecrust evenly
- In a separate bowl, combine salsa with sour cream
- Spread sour cream/salsa mixture, over ground beef mixture
- Cover pie with a layer of grated cheese
- Cover grated cheese with crushed Doritos
- Pour melted butter over Doritos evenly
- Place pie in the oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes
- Remove pie from oven and cool for 10 minutes
- Serve hot with rice and beans. Garnish with cilantro. Have tomato, onions and sour cream on the side.
