Taco Pie

This is another refugee from my couch imprisonment watching YouTube. Of course, I just had to make it, “mo betta”.  You can go as hot and spicy as you would like by adding and/or changing peppers.

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

1 deep dish pie crust

1 Lbs lean ground beef browned and drained

1/2 cup tamed jalapeños

1 can Low salt Rotel, drained

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp oregano

1 small can of green chilies

~1 cup, of sharp Cheddar

1/2 cup medium salsa, divided

1/2 cup sour cream,

1 cup, crushed Nacho-flavored Doritos,

1/4 cup melted butter

Directions:

    1. Combined ground beef with tamed jalapeños, green chilies, and Rotel and mix well.
    2. Spread mixture into piecrust evenly
    3. In a separate bowl, combine salsa with sour cream
    4. Spread sour cream/salsa mixture, over  ground beef mixture
    5. Cover pie with a layer of grated cheese
    6. Cover grated cheese with crushed Doritos
    7. Pour melted butter over Doritos evenly
    8. Place pie in the oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes
    9. Remove pie from oven and cool for 10 minutes
    10. Serve hot with rice and beans. Garnish with cilantro. Have tomato, onions and sour cream on the side.
