October 11th, 2023 

“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  I have decided that the UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been 588 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week I learned some stuff:

    • We have new grass sprouted in the front yard!!!
    • I attended my first watercolor class and 2nd Ceramics class this week. I am enjoying both.

Goddard, American physicist, engineer, and academic was born today in 1882; Elmore Leonard, American novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter was born today in 1925;  John Nettles, (AKA Inspector Barnaby on Midsomer’s Murders) English actor and writer was born today in 1943; Today, Daryl Hall, American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer was born in 1946; Meriwether Lewis, American captain, explorer, and politician, 2nd Governor of Louisiana Territory passed away today in 1809;  Redd Foxx, (AKA Fred Sandford) American actor and comedian  died today in 1991; Alexei Leonov, Soviet/Russian cosmonaut and first human to conduct a spacewalk  passed away today in 2019;Finally, we lost Angela Lansbury, (AKA Jessica Fletcher on Murder, She Wrote) English-American actress, singer, and producertoday in 2022.

Writing, Ceramics, Bonsai Trees, Stained Glass, and Painting Update:  

    • I still haven’t gotten to the Juniper that BJ got me for my Birthday.  
    • My stained glass project inched closer, traveling at the speed of glaciers! I have the new design done and I have started to lay out the template. Once that is done I can start picking and cutting glass. Mc Ceramics class is back online so I will be distracted from the stained glass a bit.!
    • I  did manage to get some more of the paper editing done on Grandpa Stories”. My goal is 3-5 chapters each week till it is don

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:  

    • Honestly! I have no idea how I managed a job and all the things I seem to have to do. Every day, I do my chores, work on projects, maybe cook, paint. or do stained glass. The next thing I know it’s bedtime again. My vision continues it’s slow descent into darkness so it takes me longer to type, paint and do stained glass but still. And So It Goes…

    • The Subdudes  — Flower Petals  —I just connected with this song – maybe its the harmonies.… Some special thing that I cannot define. This one is from their 2009 release, “The Subdues”.

    • Sheryl Crow  — Every Day is Winding Road — This was the one that put Sheryl on the map!!! It’s a great song! It’s from her self-titled album released in 1996.
