Cole Slaw, Y’all
In the summertime. when the weather is fine,,,dat ta da tah… you know how that song by Mongo Jerry goes…can’t help humming it can you? Anyway, when it’s hot outside and I am grilling some ribs or even hamburgers and hot dogs, I love a good coleslaw to sing along to. Don’t you?
I bag of that great coleslaw mix from the store Or:
6 cups shredded cabbage (mix of green and purple is preferred)
1 cup shredded carrots
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup white sugar (or your favorite substitute)
1 tsp celery seed
Salt and Pepper to taste (I use ~1 tsp each)
- In a large bowl toss it all together.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour
- Stir and serve.
