NYC Deli Shrimp Salad 

I smell across this recipe on the Internet and I remember that I fell in love with the shrimp salad sandwiches with the New York deli a couple times I lived there in the many times I visited. This time I thought I’d do my own tweaking with it and see what it came out like and I was pretty happy with the resu so if you like that shrimp salad at the deli and 50 52nd St. between sixth and seventh you’ll probably like this one hi buddy how you doing

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs of 31 to 40 peeled tail off shrimp frozen drained

2 Tbs  Key Lime juice

2 tsp Old bBay seasoning

1 tsp kosher salt

.5 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup  red onion, finally diced

1/2 cup celery, finally diced

1 Tbs fresh dill  Or 1/2 Tbs dried

~3/4 cup mayonnaise

1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning

1tsp celery seed

2 tsp Dijon mustard

1/4 cup  Key Lime juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Combine thawed shrimp with old bay and baking soda and salt. Mix well and set aside for at least 15 minutes
  2. Bring a pan of water to boil and prepare an ice bath.
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of Key Lime juice to boiling water and poached shrimp until done. Transfer shrimp to ice bath to stop cooking process.
  4. When shrimp are cool to the touch separate ice remaining ice from the bath drain water and dry shrimp on paper, towel towels, and set aside.
  5. In a large bowl combined mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, red onion, celery, celery seed, dill and Key Lime juice. Mix well set aside.
  6. Add shrimp two sauce and mix well. Cover and store overnight in the refrigerator.
  7. Prior to serving, remove from the refrigerator and drain with a sieve. Aadd enough. O mayonnaise to get the right consistency.
  8. Serve on buns of your choice or stay alone salad.
