February17th,  2024

“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  I have decided that the UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been 732 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week I learned some stuff:

    • I would like to thank everyone who replied my apology last week. I appreciate your comments and good thoughts. I want to reassure yo, while taking longer, I am indeed improving a bit every day.
    • 2024 is a leap year so we get to enjoy one more day of February. Moron what I learned about later. February 317th is the 48th day of the year with just 311 days till Christmas. You can find out all about December 28th in history here.

This week’s Website Update:

    • No updates to the quizzes this week.
    • I have a new recipe for you folks. OI made a Tuscan Shrimp and Scallop Pasta dish that we loved. I also made some Nut Clusters for Valentine’s Day that turned out to be really good.
    • The Home Page quote for this week’s wisdom is from Unknown:  “The truth is every day you receive a gift, what you do with it is totally up to you.

Writing, Ceramics, Bonsai Trees, Stained Glass, and Painting Update:

    • No ceramics classes, painting, bonsai, or stained glass since I got sick.

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • I am grateful for every minute of every day, I am learning new skills and appreciation for things I used to take for granted.
    • I got hormone shot #6 and my cancer appears to be in remission gone.

Music Update:

This week I was lucky enough to stumble across a YoouTube of The Killers doing a cover of one my favorite Jimmy Buffet songs, “ A Pirate Looks at Forty”. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

    • The Beach Boys    Sail onSailor— This has always been one of my favorite songs by these guys. It’s from their Holland album released in 1973.
    • The Beatles — It’s Getting Better — This one was a favorite from one my favorite albums.  This is from their iconic 1967 album, “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”.
    • Bruce Hornsby — The Longest Night — I love this guy’s music.! This song is from his 1995 release, “Hot House”.
    • Dave Mason— Only You Know and I Know —I loved Traffic from the first song i heard. I was saddened when Dave left the band but when his first solo album, “Alone Together” came out in 1970 I was blown away. This one is another favorite song from a favorite album.
    • Life House — Better Luck Next Time —  Jude Cole produced this self-titled album released in 2005. This guys just overwhelmed me when they came out.
    • The Moody Blues    Story in Your Eyes — The lyrics of MoodyBlues song always carried some kind of encouragement for me. This on is from their d great album released in 1971 called, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour”.

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
