“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been  2,181 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • Feeling righteously pissed off about the Trump administration and another attempt to silence information sharing on a truthful level, I was exploring my PBS station information and came across a really spectacular documentary. I got to watch “Nature: the hummingbirds of Hollywood”. I have always been fascinated by hummingbirds. We are working on three feeders in our backyard now and. This is the beginning of their annual migration north from Mexico to Canada so we’re seeing a lot of really beautiful little birds. I recommend seeing the show to everyone as they are fascinating. Good morning
    • I am our humble little house here in Chula Vista is a dash buzz with frenzy activity in preparation for the visit of Sharon my sister-in-law and Sean my son. They had honcho around here, Jessica is a Arden clean freak anyway, but when we have company coming, she becomes the energizer bunny and inspires at amongst all of us.
    • You can find out all about today’s history  here.

This week’s Website Update:

    • No new recipes or other ads to the website this week
    • I apologize for my oversight and not publishing last week quote in the update as planned. Last. week’s front page quote is from Charlotte’s Web: “”Friendship is one of the most satisfying things in the world.”
    • This weeks front front page quote is fromTerry Massier, the hummingbirds of Hollywood : “The truth is when you show compassion and you show love to something you don’t have to. That’s an act of greatness even when it’s a tiny little bird”.

Bonsai Tree and   Stained Glass, Update:

      • After my failure to restart the Stainglass project when Chloe was here, I began to work on it a little bit after she left. I removed the plastic cover and discovered the surface of my work area was full of leaves and to try this. So I went looking for my hand, whisk room and couldn’t find it. I could’ve sworn I left it hanging off my workshop wall, but even after we cleaned the garage we couldn’t find it. I was so mad I didn’t do anything else I stopped. And as I write this to you today, I realized it was hanging off my portable stained glass workshop cart so there’s a chance I might start on it again this week. Keep your fingers crossed!

Late breaking news

      • No breaking news.

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • About 1000 years ago or at least 1970 we were all warned about the increasing speed of change in society in the world. Fellow by the name of Alvin Topler wrote a book called future shock. It was pretty impressive in its expression of concern for the rate of change and whether humans had the ability the capacity, the character to adapt to such a rapid change on such a broad scale. Like most things humans I think some things we did pretty good at others. We are awful. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to recognize a couple things. The essence of life doesn’t really change the things that matter to our forefathers and to their fathers and grandfathers and grandmothers remain fairly constant. We all want the best for our families. We want our children to be successful. We want our fellow man to be at peace from there. It gets a little wobbly because of technology and other change that is been inflicted on us by self ventilation. We can’t seem to stop ourselves from improving things. Though the technologies changed the fundamental truth haven’t. It’s still up to us what path we take how long we stay on it and what we learn from it. The choices may be presented on a computer screen now rather than a road sign on a dirt path somewhere in the world, but in fact, it’s both today some parts of the world. It’s a sign on a dirt path and others everyone’s got a computer screen, but it’s still us that decides what to do what not to do what to believe and what not to believe the tools available to those who would manipulate us are exponentially better than those available who are for fathers but we are still the people that have to decide whether to go right or left to defend the week or promote the strong to compromise where to stand fast. It’s all still up to us we just have to keep making sure that we have the best information available to make our choices and that we listen to ourselves we remember the things our parents taught remind each other of how valuable each and everyone of us are every day..

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

This week we began a new playlist this time moving up the alphabet to the letter “R”. That’s with the asses. There are a lot of great musicians with the letters are as beginning with their name so if you have a pay if you have a favorite, please be patient we’ll get there.

  • The Rascals  — A Beautiful Morning — This son there’s another one of those anthem songs I’ve mentioned from time to time. It came out in 1968 on the greatest hits album, but it stuck around it got a lot of playtime. It kind of sun out the whole hippie thing for us and we hum it while we worked, and we sing it with the radio. It’s a beautiful little song.
  • REM — Man on the Moon— This is another anthem song for another generation, I think. This version is from the songs were Japan album. The original release was in 1992 on there, “: Automatic for the People’.
  • REO Speedwagon  — Keep On Loving YouThus song was always been a favorite of mine. These guys were kind among Sun, but I was like their music so I’m in concert a few times they’re great. This one was a big hit for them off their 1980, ” Hi Infidelity (2024 Remaster)”.
  • Stevie Ray Vaughan  — Riviera Paradise  Stevie had other songs that people associate him with. Hard rocking songs! But I always thought of Stevie a jazz player. This song is just soulful. They released the best of album by double trouble in 2002 is filled with great music.
  • Return to Forever — Medieval Overture — I cannot remember how exactly I stumbled across Chick Corea and the boys. But I’m awfully glad I did. This was it a giant fusion jazz band on the equivalent of blind faith or the Beatles or any huge pile of talent in any other genre. Al Di Meola dazzles on on guitar, even though he was like 17 when they started. Stanley clark is a giant on base and of courseChick Corea  is no slouch  on keyboards. Lenny White is master old playing drums with his incredible crew. This album, “romantic Warrior was released in 1976.
  • Richie Havens.— Freedom (Live) — This song was arguably Richie Havens greatest hit and it was a total improvisation done at Woodstock because the act following his was not ready to come on so he wrote it on the fly. I saw him many times after the Woodstock festival and he did it every time with the same energy and heart did that day in August in 1969. This is from an album called live in Paris in 1969.
  • Rick fines — Half Full Cup —I’m ashamed to say I can no longer remember who told me about Rick fines but I’m very grateful. To me is a very endearing style and I love the way he plays the guitar. This song is from his 2006 release, “Solar Powered”.
  • Rick Springfield — Jessie’s Girl ——Rick had a lot of creative outlets. He was an actor on TV and he had this huge hit. It’s from his 1981 release, “Working Class Dog”..
  • Rickie Lee Jones  — Chuck E’s in Love —This this song always makes me smile. I think my friend Dean Chimerakis is the one to turn me onto Ricky Lee Jones. Whoever was I’m very grateful because I’ve always loved the music. This song is wrong. Her release.”Rickie Lee Jones” , released in 1979.

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
