“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. I have decided that the UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,052 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- Our African Irises added their purple, white and yellow blossoms to our wisteria bloom party in our backyard
- Have you ever held onto something just because you think you ought to? My grandmother died in the late 80s leaving my mom with a whole house full of things. One of those things is a couch that was my great great grandmother’s is beautifully carved and my grandmother had it recovered several times. I got it when my mother passed away in 2008 it had been in storage for at least a decade now it sits in the right next to the front door and it is the most uncomfortable couch on the planet. the only one in the family that finds it comfortable is The dog as he looks out the window waiting for us to come home. I have decided to get rid of it. But how?? It is a beautiful piece of furniture that needs work and his hand carved mahogany and weighs about a ton so I can’t just bring myself to put it in the trash for pick up, I feel like I must try to find someone who will take it and return it to his form of beauty and and hopefully make it comfortable. I think I’m gonna listen on Facebook marketplace anyone have any idea ideas?
- You can find out all about today’s history here.
This week’s Website Update:
-
- I haven’t executed my potsticker idea yet. I did make a baked shrimp Alfredo, but my daughter complained it was too. ” soupy”. I will try it again using less sauce making materials.
- The Home Page quote this week is from guardians of the Galaxy superstar Groot: “I am Groot!” which I think pretty much covers it
Bonsai Tree and Stained Glass, Update:
-
- another rainy week helped me procrastinate some more of my Stained Glass project.
Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
-
- I think the universe is messing with me in a multitude of ways – mostly by making things that worked before not work anymore. For example. this week , my hair is really bugging me. I have gotten my haircut in the same style for decades. When I get up and shower in the morning and brush brush my hair back, it fell on either side of my forehead but now it insists on flying straight into my eyes. I’m contemplating getting my hair shaved offjust to avoid the irritation. My son keeps his hair very short and likes the lack of maintenance required I may join his league. What do you think?
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
This week we will begin our journey through the letter, “J”. I realized that many of my favorite musicians have names that begin with J. I hope you enjoy this trip.
- J.J, Cale — Crazy Mama — I have always been a fan of JJ and regret that I never got to see him play. He had a tremendous influence on a lot of musicians I care deeply about. this songs from his 1971 release, “Naturally”.
- Jack Johnson — Better Together — it was love at first sight when I first heard Jack’s music heading back to Seattle from Bremerton, Washington. I was stuck in I five bumper-to-bumper traffic and hurt him on the radio before I got to Seattle. I pulled off and bought two of the CDs. this is a great love song from his, “between Dreams” album released in 2005.
- Jack Johnson — The Horizon Has Been Defeated— here’s another great reason to be searching for Jack Johnson music this one is from his, “On and On” album released in 2003.
- Jackson Browne — Doctor My Eyes — I I started liking Jackson Browne even before I heard him play. He wrote some songs for some of my favorite bands. This one is from his self titled album released in 1972. It was his first big hit.
- Jackson Browne — Fountain of Sorrow — the thing about Jackson’s music I think it speaks for everyone at some point in their life he’s captured a moment that we all share at different times with different people at least that’s who I always looked at it. This one is from his, “Late for the S hey buddy, how are you getting off? Crazy boyky” released in 1974.
- Jackson Browne — Tender is the Night — it’s hard to pick out just a couple of songs to represent someone like Jackson Browne. This is the last one for today. This song comes from his, “Lawyers in love” released in 1983. Yeah, I know after a while.
- James Wilsey — Insomnia — I have no idea how this individual ended up in my library, but it’s a really well done song, but I’m sure it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. This song. is from his, “El Dorado” album released in 20008.
That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
