“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,083 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- Tomorrow we were celebrate the birthday of my youngest child. Jessica has reached an age now where specifying the years someone has been alive is less than desirable for all parties involved. Happy Birthday Jessica!
- Well, it’s official! I am embarked on a new regime of fitness. I’m counting my calories, measuring my progress, and doing 30 minutes on the elliptical each day (5 in a row so far). I’m trying to get my girlish figure back you see. Wish me luck.
- I mentioned how much I enjoyed,”The Charmed Pie Shope”” book series by Ellery Adams last week. I am on the last book now. I’m going to be sad when it’s over. I enjoyed the ride! Reading these books have given me a new perspective and fondness for rural Georgia.
- Last week, I celebrated a new level of efficiency in using the v oice entry systems available to me. This was premature. I am finding lots of room for improvement. Please bear with me and enjoy the typos.
- You can find out all about today’s history here.
This week’s Website Update:
-
- I have two new recipes this week.My son introduced me to a dish that his doctor told him about – Shakshuka – a very tasty North African egg dish. I also came up with a creamy tomato pasta that I enjoyed a lot. I am working on a homemade Gyoza sauce, but it’s not ready for prime time yet.
- The Home Page quote this week is from senator Bernie Sanders: “ For many, The American Dream has become a nightmare.”.
Bonsai Tree and Stained Glass, Update:
-
- I appear to be perfecting the art of Procrastination
Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
-
- Do you talk to yourself? I do. I don’t think I realized just how much conversation I have with myself until I started using voice inputs to my documents. I will find at the end of a paragraph sometimes find “oh! I have to pee.”. I apologize for any of those I may have missed.
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
This week we will begin our journey through the letter, “J”. I realized that many of my favorite musicians have names that begin with J. I hope you enjoy this trip.
- Jethro Tull— Aqualung — How old were you when you figured out that Jethro Tull was not a member of the band? I love these guys from the first time I heard any of their music. This one is the title cut for their spectacular album released in 1971
- Jewel —Who Will Save Your Soul — This was the first song I ever heard by this amazing backwoods young lady who came out of being homeless in New York to our radios. She has such a beautiful voice and an interesting story to tell. This song was her biggest hit from her first album, “pieces of You” released in 1995.
- Jim Croce — Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown — During his brief time on this planet, Jim, Cory gave us a number of really wonderful songs. But this song was the first song I ever heard him play and there was something very special about the guy that you could tell right away. This is from his 1973 release, “life and Times”.
- The Jmi Hendrix Experience — Have You Been to Electric Ladyland — From the Vinyl!!! When this album came out, I was a 16 year-old hippie living in Miami Florida. I discovered Jimi Hendrix and The Moody Blues at the same moment and what a moment it was! This is the title track of his 1968 release and is an excellent example of why Jimi Hendrix was the influential guitarist he became before he left us too early.
- Jmi Hendrix — Red House — While Jimmy played this song frequently at his concerts, it was never released in the United States on a record. This one comes from his 1970 release in great Burton Britain called, “Valleys of Neptune”.
- Jmi Hendrix — Rainy Day Dream Away — From the Vinyl!!! This song is another favorite cut from the Electric Lady \land album. In addition to Jimmy’s amazing good hard work we have Freddy Smith’s a wonderful saxophone work. I hope you enjoy.
That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
