“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been  2,097 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • Well, last week was another five in a row week that’s two weeks in a row that I’ve exercise 30 minutes each day for five days each week. I’m so proud! I intend to keep it up now if I could just exercise constraint when it comes to the dinner table.
    • I remembered a quote often attributed to Edmund Burke that goes something like this, The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. I am a good man, flawed but I try, and I will not do nothing any longer. We need to demonstrate that the United States is very different in 1933 Germany. You will see me protesting in the streets. This cannot stand terrible wrongs are being done in the name of our country, and I for one will not stand for it. I found a site that helps me find events that I can participate in near me. Check it out.
    • Protesting in your 70’s is just a 10 step process. But he steps are different than when we tried to end the war of Vietnam. Step one, take your meds. Step two, borrow your wife’s walker – the one with a seat in it. Step three, ask your daughter to drive you to the protest location. Step four, find the handicap ramp down to the street corner. Step five, borrow a sign step six, commence, smiling, and waving. Step seven, reverse  the process to go home. Step nine, prep for next protest – log onto the website to find the location in time – build a sign to take with you Step 10, tell all your friends it’s just intense step process. I also learned that I do not have to agree with everything being said as long as the director remains constant.
    • This week I began a campaign contacting my senators and congressman each week by email and invoice to share with them my input to the governance process. I’m asking them to take action on my behalf to stop the random executive order damages in return legislation to the legislature. It took a little doing, but I have my senators and congressman on speed dial and I have their email addresses saved in my contacts. It does not take a lot of energy to call them and send them an email each week and we can never know what we are accomplishing so it doesn’t hurt to try.
    • I meant to mention it before, but things got crazy and I forgot but sometime ago I had a pair of glasses I bought from Costco chewed up by a puppy. I took him back to Costco asking if I could buy maybe a couple new earpieces or something like that and the man took my glasses and when he came back, it had all new side pieces on it and nose nose pads and all that stuff and it didn’t charge me anything. I was impressed their prices are quite good and their selection is nice and I didn’t mind waiting at two or three days. It took to get the glasses back if you’re in that situation I recommend you try Costco’s glasses.

This week’s Website Update:

    • I have a new dessert for you guys to try. I call it Coconut Surprise. It can be served hot or cold. The only requirement is that you like coconut. Coconut.
    • The Home Page quote this week is from Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”.

Bonsai Tree and   Stained Glass, Update:

    • I appear to be perfecting the art of Procrastination

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • I miss maps. As the oldest child in my family on road trips, I became the navigator. It was my job to read the maps and the AAA tripticks    they guided all of our cross-country trips in the days before interstates. My grandmother was alive long trip a member and we didn’t go anywhere out of state without a package from AAA. The trip text showed where to go to miss traffic, jams, construction, and speed trap. Sometimes trip takes for the first place I ever saw highlighter as they marked our route through the countryside, but my love for maps can’t even before the trips across country. My little brother and I used to make treasure maps and hide shoeboxes of goodies and the maps that show you how to get to them most of the time we say we’d wait years before you got back to the map and tried to find them again, but usually it was a matter of weeks or months G GPS I took the fun out of that they do something called geocaching these days using GPS to find little treasures that are stashed by other GPS users we did it a little bit when it first came out. I haven’t done a long time but it was pretty fun, but I prefer maths.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

After last week’s dedication to Jimmy Buffett, we’ll mix it up a bit. This  week we will   begin our journey through the letter, “J”. I realized that many of my favorite musicians have names that begin with J. I hope you enjoy this trip.

  • Jimmy Eat World — The Middle  This is one of those songs that just carries on I think these guys were just a one time hit wonder but it engages you and pull you in. Or at least it does me. This is from their Allyn, “Bleed American” released in 2001.
  • .J Grey & Mofro The Sun Shines Down one of the benefits of having a shitty memory is sometimes you hear a song as if for the first time even though you know, it’s not because it’s in your music library. This is one of those songs and I really like it. I’m not sure anyone else will, but I do. This is from their, “Country Ghetto” album release in 2007.
  • Joe Bonammasa —  Further on Up the Road —this is from his outstanding live album, “Joe Bonamassa: Live from the Royal Albert Hall” released in 2009. Joe’s guitar working in lyrics are impressive. I never heard him singer play before this album came out and I became an avid fan.
  • Joe Cocker  — Feeling A Alright — Joe Cocker is probably best known for all of the great coverages. He did of other people songs, but he was an amazing player. His cover of this Dave Mason song rolled across my generation like some kind of steam train. The original song was great by the traffic but this cover on, “With a Little Help from My Friends” released in 1969 was even better.
  • Joe Robinson — Birdseed —I learned about Joe Robinson through Tommy Emmanuel. This is the title cut from Joe’s debut album released in 2000 seven. It’s remarkable album by any standard but the fact that joe was 15 years old when it would’ve came out, makes it even more special birdseed is a good example of a song on the album but they’re so many versatile songs check out “chicken Pickin’ ”. It’s an excellent example of his work on an electric guitar.
  • Joe Walsh — Help Me Through the Night — From the Vinyl!!!! Joe cover this 1970 Kris Kristofferson song on his “so What” solo album released in 1974. It shows a sign of joe that was just began to peak out in those days. Yeah a lot of other more popular songs released but this one is always made me smile. Perhaps because I’ve had someone I needed to help me through the night.
  • Joe Walsh — Life’s Been God— This this one is another great song released in 1978 on his, “But Seriously, Folks” solo album. I always liked it!
  • Joey Alexander — Ma Blues — This this one takes us down a blue sea jazz path to a nice place. I like to close my eyes and listen to this one. Let the music sort of turn me into a bubbling stream or something anyway I really liked it. I hope you do too. This cut is from his, “My Favorite Things (Deluxe Edition) “ released in 2015.

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
