“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,111 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- The republican Congress passed the most devastating budget if you were an average human being being in the United States Wednesday night. My congressman voted against the Bill. How did your congressman vote? Please contact your representatives and ask them to represent your interest in all matters financial at the federal level.
- On the plus side of the column, the Supreme Court ended in a standoff 4 to 4 with one extension on whether the federal government should use taxpayer money to finance religious education. Now, if we could just remove the tax exempt status from all religious organizations, we might actually get somewhere on our deficit.
- We are ramping up from my wife’s birthday celebration early next week. Around Our House that means you get a special meal anyway you want it a birthday cake and presents. I have noticed the older I get getting gift seems to me less than he used to. For starters I need less and no longer dream of material things. My joy comes from the get together. Is that how it is for you?

This week’s Website Update:
-
- I went a little crazy with new recipes this week. We have some new side dishes. Baked Green Beans and Red Potato Salad recipes have been added to the UJT. site. I also made one of my favorite dishes, called General Tso’s chicken.. My version does not call for any frying or breading, but it has a lot of flavor. We also tried our hand at making carne Asada tacos and Mexican Street corn this week. Around here everyone seem to like these dishes. I hope you will too.
- The Home Page quote this week is from Randy Armstrong: “Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles.. It takes away today’s peace. Worrying is not going to solve any of your problems. It’s only gonna create more”.
Bonsai Tree and Stained Glass, Update:
-
- I appear to be perfecting the art of Procrastination
Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
-
- Donald Trump is succeeded where his predecessor such as LBJ and Nixon failed. He has inspired the old folks to protest as opposed to just a young folk issue but what he’s proposing to do to our country is something everyone of every age, nationality, sexual preference, gender age in previous political standing should be concerned about. It’s easier if you just say anyone who’s not old white and rich should be concerned and most of the old white people should also be concerned if we’re not very careful at the end of this term we will not be able to recognize the country we left for our children..
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
This week we wrap up the “Js”. The nice thing about doing the sample this this way for UJT radio as you find out how just how many artist she likes to have names that begin with J. Next week will be onto a new letter.
- John Waite— Missing You — this song was always real special to me. I fell in love with it when I was on an extended separation from my family. It seemed somehow to make sense to me. Like if I pretended being separated, didn’t bother me it would somehow be true. It never was. This is from his “No Brakes” album release in 1984.
- Johnny A — Sway a Ltittle — I still have no idea how I found out about Johnny, but I’m awfully glad I did. This record, “Get Inside” released in 2004 is one of those rare records that almost every cut on the album is it is a keeper. I hope you like it.
- Johnny Mathis — Chances Are — my mother and I agreed on almost nothing when it came to music. But we agree that Johnny Mathis had one of the most beautiful voices in the business is a few very, very outstanding male singers out there that come to Johnny standard Roy Orbison comes to mind, but there are others. I hope you enjoy this trip back in memory lane. This song was released as a single in 1958.
- Joni Mitchell — Circle Game — Joni has made so much great music over the decades. I’ve known her. It’s really tough to figure out what song or what album to point out as a great example. I like this one because it’s from her, “Miles of Aisles” album East 1974. Is a live album where her back band is tom Scott in the LA express outstanding musicians. I like this particular cut because she talks to the audience about their request. Anyway I hope you enjoy it.
- Joni Mitchell — Real Good For Free — there is something about this song that always makes my eyes tear. It’s the most endearing song. I think she sings and she sings many endearing songs, but this one makes her feel so human and so open and so special. This is is a live version from the same album in 1974. I hope you like it.
- Journey — Don’t Stop Believin’ — This song is one of those anthem songs that I mentioned from time to time. Released in 1988 this song just kind of rolled over the American consciousness.
- Jude Cole — Speed of Lfe —I discovered Jude Cole by accident. I featured Life House on UGT one week and a friend of mine responded back saying have you ever heard Jude Cole he produce his record. After hearing Jude’s information, I discovered some of the reasons I like Lifehouse so much. This song is from his, “I Don’t Know Why I Act This Way” released in 1995.
That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
