“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been  2,132 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

    • Today is “No Kings day” !! It’s a good day to stand up for what you know is right. It’s a good day to let the universe know that you think somethings wrong. We have so many ways to convey our feelings today via social media standing on corners with signs, we have to practice our best civil disobedience. I’m not sure it’s going to help. I don’t think that those empower really care too much about what we say or do they feel completely justified in whatever they try to do we just have to keep saying it’s not right loudly and often do what you can.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • For the first time in 57 years, I’m no longer licensed to drive. I stopped driving a little over a awhile ago. But I still have my license until this week. Now I carry a registered old for it thing called a real ID. Good news is I don’t have to take a test to get a new one. All I have to do is live till my 80th birthday. I’ll keep a good thought.
    • We are blessed with lots of very talented musical artists in my lifetime but you are true Giants. We lost one this week. Brian Wilson was a tighten among Titans. He wrote some of the best surf music. There was even though he was scared to death at the ocean. A lot of people failed to understand how incredibly envision he was about the equipment sounds that he produced when he recorded it was literal genius. A beautiful harmonic light just went out in our universe. Rest in peace, Brian.
    • I guess it’s sort of a tradition with us to do something you don’t ordinarily do on your birthday. I haven’t bought a bottle of scotch in a couple years probably but I bought one for my birthday. My little sister got me a really cool personalized scotch glass. So I’m gonna take it for a test drive today.

This week’s Website Update:

    • I have not added any new recipes this week.
    • The Home Page quote this week is from Kyos: “There’s always a reason to smile, you just have to find it.”.

Bonsai Tree and   Stained Glass, Update:

    • A birthday present to myself I am restarting my Stainglass project!

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • These are scary times. Back in February I was predicting we might be an under martial law by summertime and hoping with all my heart that I was wrong, but it appears the Trump administration wants to turn California into its own Ukraine. I really don’t understand the logic or end game for this particular behavior. The only thing consistent about this behavior is – it continues make the job of serving in the armed force is even harder. I keep thinking about Kent State and it’s not a pretty thought.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

This week let’s continue with the artists under the “S” category. With a special tribute to Brian Wilson.

  • The Beach Boys  — God Only Knows— In 1966. When this song was released, I was 14 I was learning about love and true love and this is one of the songs that explain it to me.  This song is from their iconic, “Pet Sounds” album. RIP Brian and thank you for all the wonderful music.
  • Samantha Fish — Kill or Be Kind—I don’t remember when Samantha Fish showed up on my radar. She’s a hell of a guitar player and her I like vocals too, but I can see how some people might not. This is the title cut from her 2009 release.
  • Sarah Jarosz   — Run Away This lady has such a beautiful voice and I love the wish place your guitar as well. This is from her 2011 release, “Follow Me Down”.
  • Sarah McLachlan  — Angel — This is this special song for me. I always try to sing along and there’s always tears on my face at the end of the song. This song was a huge hit from her fourth studio album, “surfacing” released in 1997.
  • Savoy Brown — Sitting And Thinking —Savoy Brown is one of the most unsung Brock bands in the history of rock. They put out so much so many good songs. Is tight instrumental is from their 1970 release, “Looking In”.
  • Savoy Brown — Hellhound Train —This is the title cut from their 1972 release. I included to give you a sample of their vocals as well as their instrumentation. It is a great song great album.
  • Seal —Dreaming in Metaphors —Whenever I hear a song from this album, I’m taking back in time to snowy drives on the Ottawa in Germany with the Seals music turned up loud singing along on our way to someplace. Seal is one of these guys you either get or you don’t. This song is from his self titled album released in 1994..
  • Seals and croft — Diamond Girl —  the harmonies from these boys unforgettable. They always sounded like somebody cloned Pete Seeger so he so you can harmonize with yourself. This is the title cut from there 1972 release.

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
