“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been  2,202 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • As any faithful reader would know we love the visits from our family from Texas in Florida. But it’s hard to get back into the normal routine of things after a summer like ours. Things got off to a rock store just before the visits when I came down with Covid having a quarantine person in the house puts a crimp on no more routines. Then, of course, all the visitors came pretty much one after another and we accommodated their visits and changed our change to suit there. Vacation plans. It was a blast. But during that whole time we put off medical appointments we didn’t go to the gym very regularly, so it’s tough to get back into our rhythm of normal life again at least that has been this week.
    • A certain individual who are remained unnamed avoided, going to the dentist for years. All those who know, and lover advised her to go, but she refused. She had a dental emergency this week and found out how much maintenance she had backed up in her queue. So I’m not going to the dentist very often to making the dentist. Your best friend is her new role in life. My advice, brush and flush your teeth every day. Use the water pic every day and visit the dentist at least once or twice every six months depending on your situation. The alternative is no fun at all.
    • I began a new treatment this week called Wegovy. The results of my efforts to lose weight have been only marginally successful. And I need to lose more weight before I have my knee replacement surgery. My doctor prescribed this medicine in hopes that it will help me reduce my intake of calories. Once a week on Mondays, I will weigh myself and then give myself a shot of this medicine. Keep your fingers crossed.

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • Right now, I am just basking in the joy that being around my family brings me. It’s not all bubbles and glitter. There are bumps and grumps and other things that make it all the more perfect because of the moments in between I’ve lived alive pretty much free of regrets. It may be self delusion, but I prefer to insert hope where regret might’ve been and if I’m still alive enough to regret then I’m still alive enough to hope for better things to come. But if I was gonna regret anything it would be the times I was not there when my family would’ve been better off with me present. It is a tribute to my partner that our children turned out as well as they did. And I’m grateful for all of them kind. Let me off the hook as an old fart thank you McKay.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

We are continuing with the artist whose names begin with the letter,”R”..

  • Roger Miller  — Dang Me (Single Version) not all good music has to fit a formula. Roger Miller created his own style. He had his called guitar Tarzan and this one dang me filled the airways. This single was released in 1964 still makes me smile.
  • Rolling Stones  — Satisfaction  It’s a little fuzzy, but I think this might’ve been the first Rolling Stones song I fell in love with. It certainly was a huge hit form in 1965. They released it on their “Out of our Heads” album. World full of new music coming from Britain they had their own sound. It was very distinctive.
  • Rolling Stones — Gimme Shelter  “Let it Bleed” it’s an amazing record. We listened to it an hour after Our when it first came out in 1969. I think it’s Mary Clayton that sings that wonderful break in the middle. She’s so powerful!
  • Rolling Stones  — You Can’t Always Get What You Want — For our anniversary one year Tippy and I went to see the stones play the Padres Stadium in San Diego. Although they were all very old by then the show is magnificent! There’s something like 60,000 people singing in the words this song was awesome. There is another refugee from “Let it Bleed” released in 69.
  • Rolling Stones — Start Me Up — This is the song they start all their shows with now and it’s a wonderful song. The only way to listen to this song is all the way up! This is from their iconic “Tattoo You (Remastered)” album. Released in. 1981..
  • Rolling Stones.  — Waiting On a Friend  I I always think of my friend Todd Bradshaw when this song comes on. We’re hanging out together back in the 80s. He taught me the joyous wonder of very drive like martinis with too many olives and I think I got him addicted to the Rolling Stones it’s a little blurry. This is another cut off the “TattooY OKou.” album. There is so much to love about this song, but the sax is really something..
  • Rolling Stones  — Sympathy For The Devil — If if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose one Rolling Stones song that made me a convert, it would have to be sympathy for the Devil. It was a title cut from their 1968 album. I still have it. It had a 3-D image on the front cover that was really out there. There’s another one you really should turn up to listen to.

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
