“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,223 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- This week we observed the 24th anniversary of the 911 attacks. Perhaps the saddest day in my history.
- I lost all my Koi fish in the pond this week. I forgot I was filling the pond and went to sleep and overnight a lot more chlorinated water got into the pond than I had treated for as a result all of my beautiful Koi fish were floating in the morning we had eight beautiful fish that died because I was forgetful. When we went to the fish place to replace them, we found it that size in color fish could be worth hundreds of dollars, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is I lost friends I’ve had for 10 years or more due to a laughs and discipline. Well at the store, I learned of a device that I can add to my hose it will keep this from happening again. I ordered it the next day now we have nine little bitty, but very pretty little Koi growing up in our pond and so it goes.
- I learned again, that there are opportunities for inappropriate commentary to be entered into a UJT update by virtue of the dictation function. For example, I’ll be dictating a perfectly bland message about playing cribbage and suddenly sneeze and exclaim fuck at the end of the sentence then I get to send that mistake out to all my friends beware the assistance of new technology without the persistence of proofreading!
- You can find out all about today’s history here.

- It’s official! My doctor declared me legally blind yesterday. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet, but I am grateful for over seven years of great eyesight and wonderful things to see and appreciate. I also am grateful that my limitations have not stopped me from doing all of the things I love.

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
-
- Like most people, I suffer from depression from time to time. Most of the time the feelings are unexplainable, cause I live quite a wonderful life. But you’re not they don’t need to be explained. They just are what they are these feelings of not being happy. Part of it is because we believe we’re supposed to be happy all the time. We’re not. It’s impossible to feel happy after you’ve done something terrible. I made a mistake. I left the water running after the protection from the chlorine long ran out and all my fish died. Like most fears I try to learn what I can cause I already paid a price. I’ll miss those fish. They’ve been friends of mine for 10 years or better this time I learned to buy a timer for my faucet so I could not let the water run like I did last time – a $13 remedy. It’s gonna take a long time for me to scrape this loss of all my shoes and move on. Seems silly to be so down about a bunch of fish, but I am. It didn’t stop me from buying replacement fish. We now have nine new youngsters that we get to watch grow big and pretty. Seems to me it takes me longer to forgive myself than it does for me to forgive others.
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
We are continuing with the artist whose names begin with the letter “A”.
- Alannah Myles — Black Velvet — This Lady captured my heart with the first song I heard sing. This was a huge hit for her and I don’t think there’s been very many others. Not that she doesn’t have a lot of other good songs that she sings just that she isn’t getting the kind of recognition that one would expect I guess with her talent in any case this one comes from her 1989 EP Rhino Hi-Five: Alannah Myles.
- The Allman Brothers — Statesboro Blues — these boys came rolling out of Georgia, just took over the world. There was so much talent in this man for its entire lifespan and had the best of the best in southern rock ‘n’ roll. First time I heard this song was on the At Fillmore East (Deluxe Edition) [Live] that came out in 1970.
- The Allman Brothers — One Way Out (Live at the Fillmore East, 1971) — I was able to see the Coleman brothers play. I wanna say six times May 5 I don’t remember very well. All of them are very fuzzy to me. I saw him once with Dwayne and then the rest were with just Dickie bets on playing his parts. tell you the truth it all sounded great!
- The Allman Brothers — Melissa — This this is one of my favorite songs that greg wrote. It’s just a beautiful melody and sentiment. It sounds as good lives as it did on the record.
- The Allman Brothers — Little Martha — This Beautiful acoustic instrumental was written by Dwayne. The one thing I regret for all my Allman Brothers concerts. They never did an acoustic set. It was all hard car and wonderful rock ‘n’ roll but this is a truly magnificent song. This this one is from their, “Eat a Peach” album released in 1972.
- The Allman Brothers — In Memory of Elizabeth Reed — This great instrumental ended up being a ever present jam in every concert I went to. It’s a great song written by Dickie Betts and executed wonderfully. This song was released on the live album. Fillmore used to 1970.
- The Allman Brothers — Dreams — This is another Greg Allman written favorite of mine the thing that’s really cool about this song is it it features greg’s voice, which is one of the best vocals in the business. This song was the title cut of a compilation album released in 1969.
- The Allman Brothers — Whipping Post — My fond memories of seeing the Allman Brothers in concert is when we’ve been post. Finally the end ended staying there gasping for breast soaking sweat after dancing in my seat for well over half hour. It was just one big long jam, but it featured everybody and they were all magnificent artist. The best capture of this record is on the live album released in 1970 from Fillmore East.
That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
