“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine.  The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities.  It has been  2,265 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.

I’m sorry. For whatever reason this weekend, I just couldn’t get the UGT update done I really have no excuse. It’s like my, “get up and go”, got up and went leaving me, unable to carry out everything. I usually do. Perhaps I’m melancholy because I see the end of my days as the UGT updater coming to do this. I have to use two magnifiers now and a voice entry system that is slightly imperfect as is the voice. I guess it all kind of hit me this weekend but I’m back at it again and I’ll try not to let you folks down at various time zone as everyone told me how much I enjoy these little days I do I enjoy doing them too just not this week I guess thanks for understanding.

This week, I learned some stuff:

    • My eldest child had his 50th birthday last Thursday. I think it’s kind of freaking both of us out but there’s a gift I’ve been given to live long enough to see my son turned 50 and to have all those years of pride and joy and what he’s accomplished in his life how he’s adapted to them life challenges
    • I joined approximately 6 billion others and protest of the current administration on the streets. I was impressed by the turnout, but I wondered how many remember not to buy things at corporate entities during that 24 hour period. I hope they did.
    • This week I had another warranty issue. Apparently after extra amount of miles, your sciatica starts to cause problems in my case. It is pain and weakness in my left leg. Jessica took me to urgent care and they prescribe some meds and PT so we’ll see how it goes.
    • It seems like forever since I exercise last between the nausea from my medication and my general slug like interest in regular exercise I appeared of lost interest. I know I have to do it, but I keep thinking I don’t have to do it today!
    • You can find out all about today’s history  here.

This week’s Website Update:

    • No new recipes  this week-..
    • This week’s quote is from unknown: “ Everything is a win, if the goal is experience.”

Bonsai Tree and   Stained Glass, Update:

      • Still no progress on these stained glass project. The bonsai corn plant trees are both doing well as are the waters in the pond.

Late breaking news:

      • No breaking news

Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:

    • The divide in our country is truly a divide in my generation. With half the old hippies, still wanting to set people, free and love their neighbor and the other half intent on a messing in most amount of gold before they pass on these two sides seem implacable. I remember when I gave up simple ambitions I had as a young hippie. I discovered that I was good at things that didn’t match the stereotype and I like the feeling of accomplishment more than the feeling of “simply being”. Perhaps it was all the books I read as a child or maybe it was just a Hercules bout a self discovery. I’m not sure I’ll ever know, but I’m not ashamed of what I’ve done because in my way of thinking I kind of did the best of both I carried on caring about my fellow man while exploring the things that could be done if people work, his teams to come and go I got a lot of joy in the accomplishments of others while still building things on my own. The key element to my thinking is no one gets out alive. The billionaire will die, the same death as a construction, electrician or priest or cop will be level manager for technology company. No one gets there any better or any worse than anyone else.

This week’s UJT Radio Program:

We are finishing  with the artists whose names begin with the letter “H”.

  • Mark Knopfler — Good On You Son — The first time I saw mark Knopfler play was with the Dire Straits in Dallas in the 80s. At that time he was all about making the band sound wonderful and he did but since then I’ve had the opportunity to listen to a lot more of his solo work and he’s just amazing. This song is from his 2018 release, “Down the Road Wherever (Deluxe).
  • Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention    Montana — The Mother’a I think maybe an acquired taste, but I quoted it almost instantly. It’s so tight and so funny. I’ve always had a rule. You should never take yourself too seriously and Frank does a good job of that. This one comes from a album called, “Over-Nite Sensation” released in 1973.
  • Kris Kristofferson —Jesus Was a Capricorn (Owed to John Prine) — This one is a long time favor of mine. First time I heard it was at a bar on red road in Miami that had the best jukebox in the planet the 19th hole had a really talented bartender too who would play the song on the jukebox and sing along with it and pretty soon you get the whole bar singing it’s a great song great songwriter great performer everything about it’s great. It’s the title cut from Kris’ album released in 1972.
  • James Taylor —Fire and  Rain  I think that this this song is taken on new meaning as I’ve gotten older when it first came out I felt the pain of James’s loss, but I didn’t realize how wide that pain felt like personally I have now I still sing along with this song every time it comes on, always had a place in my heart. First, so self titled released in 1970.
  • Pink Floyd  — Comfortably Numb (Live) — I never got to see Pink Floyd live. I did see a cover band with my granddaughter Darrian, who came through San Diego and it was quite amazing. It did a great job. I’m sorry I can’t remember their name now, but it was something clever. This version of this song is very cool. Hope you enjoy it. It’s from there. 2000 release, “Is There Anybody Out There? – The Wall Live 1980-81”.
  • Crosby stills and Nash —Suite: Judy Blue Eyes — This is this one is from the first Crosby stills and Nash Allyn. The one with the cover picture of them sitting on a couch in front of an old house. It’s one of my favorite songs from 1969.
  • The Beatles  —Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds —We had it wrong! This song was not about LSD no matter how much it sounds like it should be. Years later they didn’t talk about it when the sergeant papers first came out John said that it was just a lyrical fantasy. Sergeant peppers lonely hearts club band was released in 1967 ashing in a whole new set of technologies and methods in recording..

That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
