“ Dobroho ranku”, or “Good Morning!” in Ukrainian, is an Eastern Slavic language spoken mainly in Ukraine. The UJT will remain focused on Ukraine until we can all rejoice at the end of hostilities. It has been 2,244 days since Russia invaded Ukraine.
This week, I learned some stuff:
-
- Keep a good thought for my friend Larry who just had a pacemaker installed. It’s amazing to me that they can install a pacemaker and send a fella home in one day. Anyway, he is home safe with BA and the dogs taking it easy till he gets his bandages off.
- I think I may have enough words saved up to do another vocabulary quiz, but I’ll have to wait till next week I think cause I don’t have time right now.
- Our new plants and fish seem to be doing well in the pond for those who can see them well. One Water Lily we have just opened another blossom and that’s always exciting.
- You can find out all about today’s history here.
This week’s Website Update:
-
- Two new recipes again this week- NYC Deli Shrimp S;alad and Baked Sandwiches.
- This week’s quote is from The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: “You’re not alone, and you’re not the one in charge… Ask for help when you need it, and give help when you can. I think that is how we serve God–and each other and ourselves–in times as dark as these,” .
Bonsai Tree and Stained Glass, Update:

Late breaking news
Weird-Stuff-O-Meter:
-
- In spite of all the speculation, we really have no idea what the goals that were when the The Secretary Defense and the current POTUS gathered the senior staff of all the armed services together, but I do hope it failed. One of the most unique things about our democracy is that our Armed Forces do not swear allegiance to the president or the Congress or even the supreme court their oaths of service are to the people of the United States. As one citizen in the United States I expect our leadership in the military to follow all lawful orders, and to have the wisdom to tell the difference between them and the other kind. A very tough job just got a lot tougher.
This week’s UJT Radio Program:
We are finishing with the artists whose names begin with the letter “H”.
- Hootie & The Blowfish — Hannah Jane — These boys blast out on the music scene and took at least me by surprised! Their surf soulful delivery and Darius is great vocals kept their music at the top of the charts since 1994 when this came out on “Cracked Rear View”..
- Hootie & The Blowfish — Let Her Cry — I think then you can only feel this helpless when you’re in love. All you wanna do is make the hurt go away and that’s the one thing you can’t do. There’s another huge hit from the same album in 1994..
- Hootie & The Blowfish — Only Wanna Be With You — I know there is a truly touching romantic tale behind these songs. I enjoyed sharing those feelings when they sang them to us. I hope you did too. This is the last one from that album in 1994.
- Hotei — Immigrant Song — Gamely speaking I’m not a huge fan of electronic music. I like some of the stuff that Kraftwerk did back in the day but generally, I stay away from it, but this was so well done. I just had to feature it. Released in 2004 this song was featured on,”Electric Samurai (The Noble Savage)”.
- Howie Day — Brace Yourself — Some good friends of mine that I was visiting while tin Norfolk Va, took me to see Howie at William and Mary College. I was so impressed. I bought his CD on the spot. I forget exactly when it was, but it was great!.
- Howie Day — Perfect Time of Day — This is a very spooky song and that appears to be describing a suicide it always moves me and I never quite understand why. I hope I never feel these feelings in any other way.
- Howie Day — Collide — This is a special song for me again I really can’t tell you why there’s something about it that moves me deeply. All three of these songs came from his album.”Stop All the World Now [DualDisc] Disc 1”.
- Huey Lewis & The News — The Heart of Rock & Roll — I think this qualifies as one of those anthem songs are mentioning from time to time. This is the third single cut off their album released in 1983, “Sports”.
That’s it… Do the best you can; Laugh every chance you get; Always remember… The best is yet to come! As always, thank you for being my friend!
