My very first pie love came to me when i was very young. My grandmother would take my brother and me to the Parklane Cafeteria. I do not remember much about the food but I do remember that huge array of cakes, pies, puddings, turnovers, brownies and cookies all arranged by category. It was then I had my first slice of blueberry pie. A black lady in crisp uniform offered to heat it up for me and put some ice cream on if I ate all my dinner. That pie was the most wonderful thing for me and started my long deep affection for most kinds of pies. I like other things too but pies always make me smile.
